This may also include Laboratory evaluation such as blood work for blood counts, liver/kidney/thyroid function, electrolytes, sugar levels, cholesterol levels, hormone panel, vitamin deficiency, urinalysis, imaging studies.
Sports physicals or Preparticipation Physical examinations are conducted to help discern whether it’s safe for a Patient to play a specific sport. It also helps identify existing health problems that may interfere with sports performance and how to deal with it. An emphasis on measures to prevent injury is also reviewed.
We recommend parents/legal guardians to complete the designated school Preparticipation Physical Examination forms prior to coming for an appointment. While the doctor will review the patient’s history during the visit, it is imperative to identify if there is any significant family medical history present as part of the PPE.
